WordPress Admin CSS Drop Down Menu Alternative
WordPress plugin admin menu dropdown css from planet ozh used to be my must have plugin. But unfortunately since I upgrade my WordPress installation from version 2.6.1 to 2.6.3, this beautiful plugin doesn’t work anymore.
The dark header in my Admin menu became huge, higher then my laptop screen, and the menu is not in drop down menu, but just an ordinary ordered list. Looks like the CSS style is not working for me.
I really don’t know what’s the problem, is something went wrong when I upgrade my WordPress using WordPress Automatic Upgrade plugin? Or there is a bug in the plugin its self? I don’t have the answer yet. Maybe I’ll do a little experiment by installing this plugin in a fresh WordPress 2.6.3 installation.
But having a drop down menu in WordPress admin is a must, I really don’t want to use the original menu that force me to do click after click just to reach a sub menu. So I search in Google for WordPress admin css drop down alternative.
One plugin that I found is Lighter Menu, another variant base on planet ozh drop down menu. Lighter menu has feature to make menu with more than xx lines will not drop down in a column but float to the right. Quit handy it we installed numbers of plugins.
In sort, Lighter Menu is quite nice replacement for planet ozh css dropdown menu, even with feature which is not implemented yet in planet ozh plugin. But, in term of looks, planet ozh is better, it has transparent background and nice icon.
UPDATE Nov 26, 2008:
I upgrade another blog of mine to WordPress v2.6.5 and planetozh admin menu drop down css is working properly, but not with this blog, even after I upgrade it to WordPress 2.6.5 too. Looks like there is/are plugin(s) incompatibility between planetozh admin menu drop down css with one of my plugins here, but I still don’t know which one it is.
