Adding Flash Player into FireFox Portable Without Installing It

Don’t have access rights to install Flash Player?

Install Flash Player Without Access Rights Right now, due to I don’t have an administrator privileges on my office computer, I can’t install FireFox 3 in it, so I have to use FireFox 3 Portable from PortableApps.

Unfortunately, this FireFox 3 Portable is not bundled with Adobe Flash Player, so I need to install it manually, wich is I can’t due to the limited access rights.

To resolved this problem, I try to follow the tips given by Fabio on his blog post, Installing Flash Player Plugin on Firefox without having Administrator Access or Premissions. The idea is the same, the only different is the folder path where we should place the flash files, if in normal FireFox installation the flash extension files should be placed in folder %APPDATA%MozillaPlugins, then for FireFox Portable, all files should be placed in FirefoxPortableAppfirefoxplugins folder.

So, these are the steps that we need to do:

Download Flash Player .xpi version
Rename flashplayer-win.xpi into flashplayer-win.zip and extract it using WinZip or 7Zip etc.
Copy flashplayer.xpt and NPSWF32.dll files into folder FirefoxPortableAppfirefoxplugins.
Restart your Firefox portable.

After restarting FireFox Portable, just visit any site with Flash on it, for example Nokia website, to test the installation. If you can see the Flash object, then you’ve successful, please leave me a comment :)

worked great!! i have a U3 usb stick with firefox and could install flash this way without having administrator rights.

there is not such folder,
for my U3 drive I’ve pasted it into
E:\System\Apps\3C9F7B3F-D55C-42cd-8537-B878518B73AF\Exec\firefox

Thanks for that. My login at work gives me all permissions (IT dept) but the PCs are frozen in state with a programme called deepfreeze and any changes made are lost when you logout.

Hi, I would just like to say that i have uploaded a portable version of firefox from PortableApps.com to mediafire.com. I also have installed flash player with the method used above so all you have to do is download the zip and unzip it. there is no installer because it is completely portable inside the folder extracted.

BINGO… Thank you million times… Your approach works with firefox for U3 as well, only the plugin folder is different, but everyone can find it in the “system” folder of U3 drive.
